Dieting for pole dance
Turmeric – The wonder stuff!
Turmeric has been used by Indians for thousands of years as a featured ingredient to the national dish, but also for its medicinal benefits.
It boasts amazing anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, thanks to its main compound curcumin (curcuminoids).
Sadly, the curcumin content in turmeric isn’t very high, and it’s difficult for the body to absorb.
However, combining black pepper with turmeric enhances the absorption of curcumin by 2,000%!
Also, curcumin is fat soluble. So it’s at its most beneficial with a fatty meal, making this healthy smoothie recipe the perfect base to deliver this kind of natural medicine.
The natural anti-inflammatory benefits of curcumin are so strong, that it is known to match the effectiveness of some anti-inflammatory drugs!
This comes in handy for pole dance, to help us aid muscle recovery, as well as, aching joints, bruises and just for general wellness really!
That said, turmeric includes lots of other benefits too:
Benefits of Turmeric…
- Increased brain function
- Lower risk of brain diseases
- Lower risk of heart disease
- Helps to prevent and even treat certain cancers
- Helps with arthritis
- A natural antidepressant
- May have age delaying properties
- 1 Teaspoon daily is the recommended amount if you want to use it for it’s natural anti-inflammatory properties. But what if you’re not a curry fan?
I’m not a fan of curries much. Shockingly, I’m more of a cocktail kinda gal!
So the idea of a healthy, medically beneficial piña colada sounds much better!
Obviously, everyone has their own version of this smoothie, but this one is mine…
